Basics:
ASP.Net a server side scripting language is a successor of ASP and it makes good knowledge of languages and systems such as the World Wide Web, Hyper Text Markup Language and the foundations of building a good web pages. Microsoft’s initial release ASP was upgraded to produce the new language called as ASP.Net, which could be deemed as the second generation of ASP. ASP.Net has it’s essential’s as being the Microsoft Technology and it supports format such as HTML, XML etc. These scripts are executed basically on the server side.
Elaboration:
The working of the ASP.Net is simple, when an HTML file is in need a request is sent to the server side and the server searches for the file and exacts the file and returns it to the client, the file is read line by line by the engine and then it’s returns to the client browser as a plain old Hyper Text Markup file. This framework is the conveyance of Microsoft’s .Net Platform, this framework is extensively used for the application and the deployment of web applications; Microsoft’s base technology the Active Server Page was powerful however it neither supported framework nor was the enterprise, the .Net Framework developed to solve this problem. However, the Session states can’t be shared by the different versions running UN IIS 6.0 and below; this seems to be the only drawbacks as stated by the critics in this field. Many developmental tools are available across the internet to build extensive, powerful and flexible applications in ASP.Net, this includes, Microsoft Expression Web, Microsoft SharePoint Developer, Adobe Dreamweaver and ASP.Net intelligence generator.
With powerful features to back up this Microsoft product, ASP.Net stands stall when it comes to frameworks, now with the release of ASP.Net 3.0, it supports many features of windows particularly Windows Card Space, Windows Communication Foundation and Windows Presentation Foundation to name a few.
